Barossa United FC is excited to announce our upcoming Summer 7-A-Side competition, a fantastic way to keeps your skills up in fast-paced, social format. Played on our synthetic and grass pitches, this is your chance to get a team together with friends, family, or colleagues and compete for the ultimate bragging rights.

Where
Barossa United FC Football Precinct, Centennial Park, Nuriootpa.
When
Round 1: Friday 24 October
Round 2: Friday 31 October
Round 3: Friday 7 November
Round 4: Friday 14 November
Round 5: Friday 21 November
Round 6: Friday 28 November
Round 7: SEMI FINAL Friday 5 December (may be changed to the Thursday 4 December due to Tanunda Xmas Pageant)
Round 8: FINAL Friday 12 December
Time
First games kick off at 5.30pm. Last games finish around 9pm.
Format
7 x Rounds + 1 round of finals
2 x 20-minute halves
3 x half pitches (one on the grass)
Age groups
U10 Mixed x 6 teams
U12 Mixed x 6 teams
U14 Mixed x 4 teams
Open Women x 4 teams
Open Men x 4 teams
Cost
$800+ GST ($880) per team for the whole comp (7 rounds plus the final round).
If there are 10 players in the team (max):
$88 per player for the whole competition.
$11 per player, per game.
$880 must be paid in full by the first round, by one payee.
Cut off
Teams to be submitted by Friday 10 October
Wear
Bibs can be provided or bring your own shirts.
Surface
1 x grass pitch
2 x synthetic pitches
Weather
If a round is cancelled due to the weather, we will reschedule on another night.
General rules
On the most part, our 7-a-side playing rules are the same as regulation 11-a-side rules with the following exceptions/modifications:
- We strongly advise all players to wear shin pads and long socks
- Kick-offs are indirect and can go either forward or backward
- All free-kicks are indirect
- Offside rule applies
- The goalkeeper can’t drop-kick the ball directly from their hands
- Proper throw-in rules apply
- Goal-kicks must be taken from the ground, the ball must not be moving, and can be placed anywhere inside the penalty area
- Opposition players must be at least 5m away from any free-kick or kick-off
- Start, half-time, and full-time will be signalled via the referee’s whistle
- The game starts and ends on the referee’s whistle
- Barossa United FC reserve the right to refuse a player registration or to terminate a player registration during the competition.
Substitutions
- Teams can have up to 3 rolling subs
- Substitutions must be made during natural breaks in play, such as throw-ins or corners
- Players subbing on should not enter the field of play until the player subbing off has left the pitch
Penalties
- All penalty kicks are taken from the top of the goal area directly in front of goal and 8m from the goal line
- The goalkeeper must be on the line when the penalty is taken
- Strikers must wait for the referee’s whistle before proceeding to take the penalty
Points
- 3 points for a game win.
- 1 points for a game draw.
- BONUS: At the conclusion of each game each team has the opportunity to take 5 penalty shots. The team who scores the most goals out of 5 shots on goal, gets 1 points added to their game score.
- If the penalties are drawn, each team will take a penalty in a sudden death shootout.
- The two teams at the top of the ladder in each division plays off in the grand final.
